Back by popular demand, Janet and Cassie from York based Story Craft Theatre, return to Kiplin this Summer.
The warmest of Yorkshire welcomes await visitors little and large. Hear dramatised stories of life from past Kiplin residents and enjoy family friendly craft activities. An outdoor event.
Enjoy a new show written especially for our ‘Ey up! Monday family sessions. Their tale or should we say ‘tail’ is all about Mr Pickles, a dog like no other and one who is in need of help. Discover some of the wonderful history of Kiplin Hall whilst heading on an adventure to help a pug with a plea!
The interactive 30 minute production brings together puppetry, problem-solving, game playing and whole bunch of fun for all the family……the adventure continues after the show, with a scavenger hunt around the site.
Situated on the South Lawn with picnic tables and blankets available for audience members.

Become a portrait artist at Kiplin Hall. This drop-in craft activity gives you the chance to design a portrait for the people who owned and lived at Kiplin Hall in the past, but who’s faces have been lost to history.
While there are many portraits of the people who owned and lived in Kiplin Hall, we have no pictures of some family members. Take inspiration from the portraits, objects and history at Kiplin to decorate a paper person to create one the ‘missing portraits’. Who knows, maybe it will one day hang on Kiplin’s walls?
There’s also an opportunity to see some of the plans we have been working on with local communities for exciting new displays at Kiplin, and share your thoughts and ideas from Kiplin’s future. (Part of National Lottery Heritage Fund funded project, with thanks to Lottery players.)
