Forest Bathing
with Tandy
10 April 2025 – 10:30am – 1:00pm
20.00

Forest Bathing Started in Japan in the 1980s and is now part of the national health programme. It’s about slowing down and noticing the things in nature we so often take for granted. Just spending a few hours in nature can help you to relax and tap into nature by focusing on the senses in a mindful way. There are enormous physical, mental, emotional and social benefits to connecting with nature and to each other.

You can now take part in Forest Bathing at Kiplin Hall! Booking through Tandy Taylor ptthirsk12@gmail.com or call 07988758288

Research shows that trees release powerful natural chemicals that can have many health benefits which can include:

reducing blood pressure

lowering stress levels

improving heart and lung health

lowering blood sugar levels

improving concentration and memory

lifting depression

helping with pain relief

improving energy

boosting the immune system

reducing inflammation

helping sleep problems

Just 2 hours of Forest Bathing can have a powerful impact. The effects can stay with you for up to a week. Just slowing down, reconnecting with nature and ourselves helps to open up the senses so we really notice what’s around us. This is done through mindful walking and a few gentle activities that focus on the senses and enhance wellbeing.

We will start our walk in the woodland areas near the hall where we will carry out a few short practical exercises that focus on birdsong and what we can see around us.

We will proceed by walking across pastures and grazing land and do some sensory activities connected with smell and touch.

Finally, we will slowly walk a stretch of the lake focusing on the power of water and return to Kiplin Hall.
