Silent Footsteps
The people who worked at Kiplin Hall
1 October 2023 – 5 November 2023 – 11am – 4pm
Included with admission

Discover the previously silent stories of people who worked at Kiplin Hall in the past. New research shines a light on their forgotten lives. Their hard work and efforts made the hall a home. Their stories remain largely silent today, we see only glimpses through snippets of diaries, inventories, and accounts.

This exhibition explores the stories of the people who worked at Kiplin Hall, seeking out the shadows of their lives we can see today. See items from the Annie Marchant Kitchen and Dairy Collection to get a sense of some of the tasks the staff did and the things they might have used in their daily duties. Even though we know little about these servants, they made a huge impact. They cared for the hall, its owners and contributed to us being able to enjoy the hall today.

You can buy tickets in advance online or in-person on arrival. Day and Annual Tickets are available.

(Please note this exhibition is on the 3rd floor, there is no lift.)
