Wood, from utility to beauty
Our 2026 exhibition in partnership with the Yorkshire Country House Partnership
Ongoing – 26 November 2026 – 11am – 5pm
Standard Admission Applies

Wood was historically used to create long lasting and useful everyday items by skilled crafts people.

Visit the exhibition on the second floor to discover wooden objects from Kiplin’s collection in a new light. Through the Annie Marchant Kitchen and Dairy Collection, see practical and useful items for everyday graft. Displays reveal the important role of Beatrice Carpenter in the Home Arts and Industries Association and local community through her stunning inlaid furniture designs.

From late spring venture outside to find trees in the gardens surrounding Kiplin Hall. Identify different species in the trail and return to the café surrounded by a photographic exhibition of Kiplin’s plants and trees by Ripon based Helen Tabor. Indulge in the café menu featuring local and home grown produce in our warming soups, summer salads and seasonal scones.

Please note this exhibition is on the second floor, accessed via the stairs. There is no lift. We do have a digital version of the exhibition that visitors can view on a tablet screen on the ground floor. The Hall opens at 11am, last entry 4pm. Kiplin Hall and Gardens is open 6 days a week, closed on Thursdays.
